A fantastic and unusual piece of American club rugby history, this 1997 Detroit RFC England Tour rugby jersey was manufactured in New Zealand by Canterbury of New Zealand (CCC). Produced to commemorate Detroit Rugby Football Club’s tour of England in 1997, this striking long-sleeved jersey represents a wonderful throwback to the amateur rugby era, when overseas club tours were an important part of rugby culture. The jersey features a beautifully embroidered Detroit RFC tour crest, incorporating the flags of England and the United States, alongside the distinctive Harp Lager sponsorship and classic Canterbury branding.

Finished in a predominantly black design with bold red and yellow hooped sleeves, this traditional cotton rugby jersey features a classic collar, embroidered detailing and the unmistakable quality of vintage New Zealand-made Canterbury rugby apparel. Presented in excellent vintage condition, this is a particularly unique and difficult-to-find jersey that will appeal to collectors of Canterbury rugby shirts, American rugby memorabilia and traditional 1990s touring jerseys.
