This jersey is believed to be an alternate strip, featuring a distinctive white base with green sleeves and red trim, setting it apart from more common provincial designs of the period. The embroidered Border Bulldogs crest is paired with Spoornet sponsorship, a key detail that firmly dates this jersey to the pre-2009 era before Spoornet’s rebrand — making it a tightly defined late-2000s piece.

Border Bulldogs jerseys were produced in very limited numbers, and examples like this are extremely hard to find, particularly outside South Africa. While the team may not be widely known in global rugby circles, this scarcity and regional history make it a standout piece for collectors of Currie Cup and obscure provincial rugby jerseys.
